@Laef – Well it’s a point to be made I guess. NASA’s budget is $17.6 billion this year. Which seems like a lot but is really a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things.

Plus think of all the things NASA has invented that contributes to our daily lives: shoe insoles, ear thermometers, scratch resistant lenses, CAT scan machines, cordless tools, and of course Tang.

I occasionally forget that you are intelligent. Thanks for the reminder. I agree to some degree with everything you said, except one thing:

Fuck space.

NASA is a great science experiment when the economy is going great. When we are spending billions on two never-ending wars and a trillion to buy out the banks, mortgage, and insurance companies, we need to cut spending in lots of places. NASA is one of them.

I support space travel, but with gas, food, and rent prices up, you don’t see me rocking Vegas every month, why should the US?

@Oldangerous – Oh your neighbors! I’m really afraid that’s how most Americans act in private. I’m also afraid Obama isn’t actually as far ahead as they say. I’ve been reading about the Bradley Effect (people don’t admit publicly to being racist but can’t bring themselves to vote for minorities). I’ll post a link in the list above.

Also, my last post was about boobs. I need to get back to my roots and write about beer or something.

Wow, nice post. I didn’t know you had it in you. No references to beer or death metal… Impressive yet somehow unfortunate.

I agree, McCain’s campaign has been shameful in the Palin era. I know some people buy it though. I live next door to them.

The decision to choose Palin as a running mate was in my view blatantly demeaning to the intelligence of the voting public as are his ads.

Even if you liked McCain’s policies and could ignore his ads, the idea of a President Palin is… Frightening.

Nick, you should totally send this to Fox News! I think next steps should be a Bill O’Reilly styled newscast with you outlining the points (since Fox News viewers have such awesome attention spans and capacity to think independantly).
I agree with your views here completely. I was so horrified with the blatant racism in McCain’s rally’s, especially when that one lady didn’t trust Obama because “he’s an Arab”. When folks get past color, nationality and realize that the U.S is not an island that can solve its problems by closing its doors, only then will they have a positive foreign image and security at home.

Also, I am going to shoot myself if he calls me ” a friend” one more time.
